This site is dedicated to the monster hunters, vampire slayers, exorcists, over-worked wizards, paranormal investigators, and other heroes who work to keep ordinary folks safe from the things that go bump in the night. Here you will find fan fiction and original stories, a collection of folklore about monsters and beasties and creepy crawlies, knowledge of magic and arcane lore, and bios of the various fictional characters of the genre, and real life ghost hunters. Sanctuary started as a writer's resource for fans of the show Supernatural, but it has evolved beyond that, and I hope you find something here entertain or inspire you. New fan fiction submissions and articles about supernatural folklore are always welcome. .
This old church is a safe place for those of us who fight to hold back the darkness. It doesn't matter if you're a grizzled veteran or a young buck just learning the ropes, if you fight against the things that go bump in the night, you are welcome here.
You can kick back with the other hunters in the War Room and have a cold one while you share your stories. You might even run into some of the more famous of us in there. Those Winchester boys have been known to drop in now and then, and I've even seen Mr. Van Helsing patching up his wounds in there from time to time. 'Course, they don't spend too much time here, they're too busy fighting, which is why they're the big guns, I suppose.
If you want to know their stories, or the stories of other hunters, famous or not so famous, check out the Journals. If you need to research for your next hunt, check the Library, and if you need to stock up check out the arsenal. Just remember to return what you borrow so its there for the next hunter to come along.
Me? I'm Helen Cross. My husband was a hunter. He got taken out by a nest of vampires some years ago, God rest his soul. I never was much good on the hunting side, I was more the researcher type. Now, I do what I can in his memory, which means running this place. Sanctuary is protected with every type of good mojo I could find. Every hunter needs a place to fall back to after a hunt, and this is one of those places. Harvell's Roadhouse is another, and there are more scattered around the country.
If you want to know more, go explore. There are plenty of books, and folks in the War Room will be glad to help you out. One thing most hunters have in common are strong opinions, and they are always willing to spout them to anyone who will listen. I've got work to get back to. Good luck.
This latest Supernatural episode has to be proof that the shows writers read what the fans write. I mean, Dean and Sam reacting to the existance of slash fics? Classic. When I saw the scene where they were looking at the fan message board I could only think of the fic on fanfiction.net called "Sam and Dean and the Internet Message Room" where Sam and Dean the characters end up chatting with their real life fans.

The Russion word for were-wolf is "oborot", or litterally "One transformed". This spell will allow the caster to become an oborot. But use it with care - I've never found any instructions for reversing it.
He who desires to become an oborot, let him seek in the forest a hewn-down tree; let him stab it with a small copper knife, and walk round the tree, repeating the following incantation :
The latest book in Jin Butcher's Dresden Files series is due to be released in April.
The word Poltergeist litterally means "noisy ghost" in German, and that's exactly what one is... or maybe not. There are two schools of thought about poltergeists. The traditional idea is that a poltergeist is a mischievous or malignant spirit or the ghost of a person who has not been buried properly. Poltergeists have been known since medieval days when the trouble was blamed on demons, devils, and witchcraft.
Hi all i've been trying to find out as much as i can about poltergiests with little luck all the info i have come across so far has been sketchy at best, just wondered if anybody could help me out?
Thanx :)
The first time I came across this site, I was looking for a latin exorcism, which I could use to preform an online exorcism on my friend in vermont, who'd been possessed by God knows what and was reacting strongly to latin. It seemed to work, and I'm thankful that I could find it so easily. It was only after everything was said and done, that I read in the cliffnote that it was what Sam Winchester used on Meg in season one of Supernatural. Which I'd noticed already, I recognized it. (I watched it enough times to recognize what he was saying...)
