Buffy Anne Summers was your typical girl next door. She wasn't worried about anything but keeping up her grades, cheerleading practice, and her parent's divorce - until she learned that she was the one girl in all the world who had been chosen to fight evil. The Chosen One gig came complete with supernatural strength and speed, prophetic dreams, and a Watcher to help train her. It also came with knowing that there are nightmares out there in the dark, and it was her job to keep the world safe from them. Always ready with a witty quip and a sharp stake, Buffy used her new powers to slay vampires and demons, first in LA, then later (for seven seasons) in Sunnydale, California.
With the help of her friends Xander and Willow (the Scoobies), and later others, she saved Sunnydale and the world from one demony apocalypse after another.
Created and written by Joss Wedon, Buffy has been the star of a movie, a hit TV series, and a series of comic books. The show Angel was a spinoff of Buffy.
