The Atlantic Paranormal Society (T.A.P.S.) is a real life ghost investigation group founded by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. T.A.P.S has its own TV show, Ghost Hunters, on the Sci-Fi channel. Based out of Rhode Island, they have affiliated groups all over the country. They investigate hauntings with modern science - infrared cameras, temperature recorders, EMF (electromagnetic field) meters, recordings of EVP (electronic voice phenomenon), and more.

I've seen this show, they showed it in the UK for a while. It was pretty interesting how they were very determined not to be called frauds so they tried to disprove their findings all the time.
