Dean and Sam Winchester are brothers who were raised by their father, ex-marine John Winchester, as hunters. When their mother was killed on Sam's six month birthday in Sam's nursery by something unnatural, John started a quest to find out what killed his wife and get his revenge. Along the way he trained his sons, and they have followed in their father's footsteps - saving people and hunting things. Sam tried to get away from life as a hunter. He wanted a chanceat a normal life, but when John went missing, and Sam's girlfriend Jessica was killed by the same thing that killed their mom, he teamed back up with his older brother and they criscrossed the country on a search for their father, hunting vengeful spirits, demons, shapeshifters, and other monsters as they went.
