In 1984 three discredited Columbia scientists, Peter Venkman, Raymond Stanz, and Egon Spengler (later joined by Winston Zeddemore) opened a paranormal investigation and elimination service in New York City. Plauged by derision and leagal problems, they forged ahead using scince to rid New Yorkers of thier ghost problems - charging four to five thousand dollars per spook.

When their legal troubles came to a head and the EPA shut down thier ghost containment unit they found themselves at the center of a storm of paranormal chaos that culminated in Peter's girlfriend turning into a dog, an ancient god named Gozer being released in the city, and an explosive fight with a giant marshmellow man.

Thier methods may have been unorthodox, and thier movie a little campy, but since they did save New York from a supernatural threat, they deserve a place here with all the other hunters.
