I just got a call from Ellen Harvel over at the Roadhouse, and it seems that she got a frantic call from Dean Winchester looking for his brother. Sam's missing, and Dean is frantic. If anyone has any news, let Ellen know, or let me know and I'll pass it along.
(I'm opening this topic for role play, treat it like a rumor mill for hunters. Be inventive and have fun.)
Thank you!
Good to know.
Haunted property
Well it's Autumn here again and I just wanted to say thanks for the help and maybe your idea will work and if you can send any help I could sure use it with all the late afternoon storms around here drawing a salt circle that big before a downpour washes it away will take several people.
On another note this may have something to do with all these possessions A few months back I crossed paths with Bobby Singer he was telling me about how he was noticing a pattern in the recent demon activity. We were just sitting in a roadside diner. You know the ones that have a tv mounted on the wall in the corner. When a news flash came on about someone going berserk and shooting a bunch of people. I thought man some people are just crazy. But Bobby had a theory he thought that maybe demon possession was behind many of these incidents. He had even noticed a pattern in some of them the school shootings in particular.
Now I may be totally off here but I do think when we hunters see something like this on the news maybe we should investigate. It seems that over the past year that demon activity has really ramped up kinda like a demonic shock and awe. Maybe we should start looking into the big news stories that have an element of well that was odd to them just to make sure that a demon isn't behind it.
On a side note the house in my first post really does exist. And the backstory minus the dead groundskeeper is mostly true. I always thought it would make a great case for Sam and Dean since salt and burn would be out of the question given the circumstances .
Good to meet you.
Hello Autumn. I'm Lyca. It's always good to meet a fellow hunter.
I think Helen's idea of a purification ritual would probably be your best bet, she's a wiz with the library research, has saved my ass many times just in the nick of time. Sounds like it could get rough though, be careful and let us know how you get on?
I think you may be right about the possessions, something big is going on that's for sure. But did anyone notice they just stopped a while ago? It was really strange, things just went really quiet, now it seems like they're back with a vengeance, I'm having trouble keeping up!
What to do?
Hey Autumn McGee here and I have a bit of a problem I wasn't really looking for this hunt it just sorta landed in my lap. I was driving through the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia this past week when it came up an awful thunderstorm it was so bad I had to stop somewhere for the night. I found this cozy little B&B right off the parkway and rented a room for a couple nights since my last hunt was a rough one and I needed some downtime. Anyways my first morning here the groundkeeper was found dead it looked as if he had been thrown in a wood chipper he was in so many pieces that was when I overheard one of the cops talking about the houses history it seems the house has a reputation amongst the locals for being haunted and it goes back generations to the time when it was a plantation and it's first owner was so cruel to his slaves that one night two of them murdered him well I thought it would be a simple salt and burn that was until researched the history of the house and the murder of it's first owner a Mr. Joel Baker it seems he really was a nasty character because many of his contemporaries noted his cruelty to his slaves when he turned up missing no one really looked too hard for him until a nieghbors prized hunting dog came home chewing on a decomposing arm he had dug up. The arm was identified as the arm of the Mr. Baker by his widow. Soon the two slaves who murdered him had confessed to their crime but here is where the hunt goes all to hell they cut up his body into dozens of peices and buried him all over the 106 acre property. All of his parts were never recovered and the property has been divided up over the years with houses, barns and whatnot having been built on it. I can't possibly find all his parts so I can't do a salt and burn any other ideas on how to get rid of this vengeful spirit?
Nice to meet you Autumn
Hmmm, now that's a toughy. There are other ways of getting rid of spirits, though. I think I read about a purifying ritual that should do the trick. You may need a little help with it though cause If I remember right you'll have to draw a salt circle around the entire area to be purified. I'll go dig around in the library and see if I can turn it up for you.
Possessions
I've been checking out those possessions you've all been talking about and I thought I'd start in Illinois because there where two there that I new of already. So far I have discovered another three in that area.
One in Chicago, Illinois. Another in Onarga, Illinois and a further one in Clinton, Iowa. Might want to see if you can see a pattern there?
Helen do you know where the one in New York was? I'm hoping these new ones I've found are on the list of 30 that you had Helen, let me know, I hope they're not entirely new ones, that would be bad!
Chicago and Clinton were on
Chicago and Clinton were on my list, but the Onarga possesion I hadn't heard about. The one in New York was in Brooklyn, but I don't know the details.
I've been meaning to plot them out on a map, but things have been so busy here I haven't had the time.
I've been playing nurse to three wounded hunters who are crashing in the rooms in back until they are up and about again. They tangled with something they've never seen before in the mountians in Northern Montana. Red described it as a cross between a grizzly, a wolverine, and a set of Ginsu knives. It wasn't a Wendigo, fire had no effect on it. There's nothing like it in the library. If anyone has any ideas about what it might be, drop me a line if you would.
Oh god, I hope it's not the
Oh god, I hope it's not the same as what I faced in Truckee, cause that would account for them being all torn up like that. Although Montana is quite a way from there. But I wouldn't like to know there are more out there, they're nasty buggers.
Could you pass on a few more from your list of possessions? We really need to see if we can find a pattern! Maybe plotting them on a map would be a good idea, you should try that!
No, I don't think it was the
No, I don't think it was the same as what you ran into, this was only one thing, not a pack. They said it was covered with fur, eyes glowed green. Oh, and all three of them are up and about now, but they asked me not to mention their names, kind of embarassed I guess. They're going to try going after it again.
As for the possessions, I've plotted them out, but I can't see a pattern, it all looks pretty random to me. There've been three in New York city, two in LA, one in New Orleans, the Clinton, Chicago, and Onarga ones you mentioned, one in Peoria (which actually makes a cluster in Illinois), one in Little Rock, another in Boston... they mostly seem to be in bigger cities.
I looked on the map at the
I looked on the map at the cluster around Illinois, and if you join them up they make a five pointed star! I wonder what that means? Maybe someone should check out the town in the center of the star, see if anythings going on there? Do we think maybe the others are going to spread into stars too?
I'm back
Well I made it home in one piece. Thanks for those cold ones Helen, you have no idea how well they went down!! :)
So, I was going to take a few days off, visit Calem in hospital (he's doing good by the way, bored stiff but good) but now I'm itching to get on the move. So if any one hears of anything creepy or ominous out there do throw it my way. I need something to keep me going while Felix gets the rest of the group for his hunt.
It was good to have you
It was good to have you here, I wish you could have stayed a little longer.
Mishka's here, and her Jeep is down for repairs, she says you can have the hunt she was headed towards if you want it, it's down in Mississippi, looks like a vengeful spirit.
Nice
Nice, it's been a while since I've dealt with a spirit. What are the details?
It's an old Antibellum
It's an old Antibellum plantation that's been converted into a museum down near Jackson. I'll send you a fax with all the particulars, but Mishka tells me the death's seem to be ramping up in frequency. She thinks it has something to do with an archeological dig that's going on down there.
Hey Helen. I'm planning on
Hey Helen. I'm planning on heading out there really soon, so if there's anything else you can tell me before I go I'd appreciate it.
Done and Dusted
Oh Helen. I forgot to tell you I dealt with that Museum hunt for Mishka. She was spot on, it was a vengeful spirit. Turns out it was attached to a knife and skeleton they dug up. The skeleton was of a young girl and the knife appeared to be from the kitchen. I looked into the background of the place and it turned out the daughter of the owner was murdered with a kitchen knife. She was having a relationship with the kitchen hand and daddy didn't like it. The reports say the father forbade the daughter to see the kitchen hand any more and when she broke it off the kitchen hand killed her in a rage. He was put to death! But a lot of the staff thought the kitchen hand was innocent and it was dad who killed her cause she refused to call off the relationship. This turned out to be true and it was the ghost of the daughter doing the killings, she was using the knife to take out anyone who appeared to be a controlling father! I almost got caught burning her bones, that was fun, seeing as how she was going to be put into the museum! But I managed it and all is well, she's at rest finally. Kinda feel sorry for her really, killed by her own dad and her lover blamed and executed for it. Love sucks huh?
Mystrious dissppearances in the woods of Westing
Westing, Minnesota is a small town that is vurtially surrounding by thick woods. Stretching back to the 1950's there have several strange dissppearances. So many in fact that most local residence no longer set foot in thoe woods and local folklore blames everything for horrible demons to the spirit of local woman named Samantha Evans who was targeted as being a witch and was murdered out there in the early 1800's. As of today the most recent dissppearance was a Boy Scout troop from out of the area on a camping trip. No is ever found and there is never a trace of the missing person seen again. There have however, been the occasional survivor but even they give no real clues as they usealy are unable, or unwilling, to speak about what they have seen.

I JUST got an e-mail from a man some of you may know or have heard of. His name is Felix Urban. To some he's Felix 'the cat' to others he's Urban 'the legend' but to all of us who have come to him for help he is a data miner to beat them all. In addition he's a top drinker slinger at a little hunter hub called Hern's Hunting Grounds and is said to be able to make a mean zombie as well as tell you how to kill one without missing a beat. ANyway, he's trying to find takers for the Westing hunt and sent me his personal e-mail address, he urges anyone in that area with the skills and the intrest to e-mail him for his research notes. He would take it himself but, as useal, the Flannagan clan he works for is on it's own hunt and old Molly told him she would hurt him something serious if he closed up shop again. Anyway, the address is: felixurban1@gmail.com
Hey, I'm interested.
Hey, I'm interested. Anything to fight the good fight. But I am on a hunt right now. A friend of mines in trouble and needs my help, but if I'm back in time (or even make it out alive) I'll definately go along. I've sent Felix my details so we'll see what he says!
Felix Urban
Felix is playing 'net tag with several potientals and asked me to relay that he's glad to hear you're intrested and wanted me to let you know if you need any help to wrap things up let him know. He's kind of hunter coordnator in his area (Southern Arazona) and will send help/information when he can.
Felix the cat himself
Ok this is the man himself Felix (thanks libs for playing go between). Things have fianlly slowed down a might (I was over run by thristy patrons and short handed again) so I can post for myself. BTW, poor Libs, he tries but is a bit scatter brained, the place I tend bar at is Hern's Hunting Lodge. Poor fella.
Update?
Hey Felix, how's it going getting together the hunting party? Any news?
Update
I've gotten some promsing applications for the hunt. Trying to coordinate the effort now. Will aprise of developments.
Calem Johnson's in Trouble
I know some of you have heard of Calem, some may even have met him. Well, he's a good friend of mine and I think he'd be ok with me telling you this. After loosing contact with him while he was on a werewolf hunt I became worried and asked around. Helen Cross gave me a lead as to where I might find him in Truckee, a cabin there hunters often use as refuge. She'd heard some bloody rags had been found, someone who'd been there was in trouble. So I traveled across state and checked the place out for myself. What I found was my worst nightmare. A hunter had been using the place - Helen, I don't know if it was the same person who told you about the bloody rags or not, I hope not honey, cause he's dead. I found the cabin in a wreck, blood was all over the place and this hunter, well lets just say I didn't need to check for a pulse to know he was gone. It looks like a werewolf, except the moon isn't right. So I've been doing some digging, following in Calem's foot steps, and from what I've turned up it wasn't werewolves after all. I'm not sure what they are. They're shape shifters of some sort so I'm hoping silver bullets will do the trick. But I did find a sign Calem left, it was scratched into one of the wooden posts. It's a symbol we use to communicate with each other indicating danger, that one of us is in danger. I don't know where he is or even if he's still alive, but where ever he is he's in danger and needs help. I'm going to head out first thing to look for him. I'm not sure how many of these things there are but from the state I found the cabin in, I'm estimating there's at least three. This could be suicide, but he's my friend and I know he'd do the same for me! I suggest if any of you are thinking of coming out here, don't come alone, or at least come armed to the teeth! Wish me luck, I'll try and get back to you soon and let you know what I've found out. If anyone can think or knows what these things might be, I could use the help?
Oh, no...
You be careful out there, hon. I'll dive into the library and see if I can dig up anything on those nasties. Are there any other signs that might help identify them?
Wish me luck
So far all I know is what I've told you. They're very much like werewolves, in the way they attack and leave their victims, yet they don't seem to follow the moon. They travel and attack in pacts. But as I haven't gotten a glimpse of one yet I can't elaborate. Hopefully I'll have some more info tomorrow. I'll let you know!!
I NEED HELP!!!!
I've just barely made it back to my motel and managed to get an Internet connection. I've gotta tell ya, it's been a rough day!! These things, I'm not sure what they are but they're not werewolves, that's for sure, and there's a lot of them. I thought they'd be hiding out in a cave or the woods somewhere, but they're living in apartments, right under our god damn noses! They share similarities with werewolves yes, but they're more humanoid and they don't have to wait for a moon cycle or even night to change, they can do it at will and it doesn't take long for the transformation to happen. There's still no sign of Calem, but to be honest, as much as it pains me, I'm not holding out much hope for him. I got caught spying on a bunch of them, I blasted one in the head and the heart with silver bullets, but it didn't stay down for long and definitely it didn't kill it. If Calem really thought it was werewolves and that's all he was armed with, well lets just say he may not have managed to stop them all. I was lucky to get away, but I'm not without injury, luckily it's just bumps and bruises, although I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to see out of my left eye for much longer, it's swelling up pretty fast! I'm not sure I'm off the hook yet though, it's taken me hours to ditch them, I'm fairly certain they can follow my scent. I've scattered cedar ash around the place, I'm thinking they might be skin walkers but I may be grasping at straws. I don't think I'm going to be able to stay here for much longer before they catch up with me. If anyone has any leads or clues as to how I can kill these SOB's I could really do with the help, some reinforcements wouldn't go amiss, I doubt I can take them all on myself. But these things are getting cocky, I saw one of them kill a woman just because she saw them chasing me, the thing ripped her throat out like it was running it's claws through a water fall. I'll check in again as soon and as often as I can, if any one hears from Calem let me know, we know to always go to Sanctuary in out time of need, one way or another!
not much help, but...
Hmm, I'm not the expert on this stuff that Helen is, but from your description they almost sound like Spring Heel Jacks, only I've never heard of them traveling in packs, they are pretty rare. Were their eyes red?
Helen is tearing apart the library trying to find out what they are so you'll know how to kill them, as soon as she finds anything either she or I will pass it on to you. The fact that silver doesn't work is worrysome, though... what kind of shapeshifter is immune to silver?
You keep moving hon, 'borrow' a car if you have to, that should make your scent harder to follow, and the cedar ash is a good idea.
They found me.
Funny you say 'borrow a car' I almost did. But I had my own. They found my motel room about two hours ago, luckily I'd been re-stocking the car and wasn't in the room at the time. I got to the doorway and they were already inside. There were two of them and one of them was the one I'd shot. Where I'd shot it, it looked like it had been rotting away, half its face just wasn't there and its chest had a hole in it, bits of flesh were dropping of in little chunks, quite disgusting really. So it looks like the silver IS working, just not very quickly. I've no idea if it's going to kill it or not, I hope so. I don't know how they could have built up an immunity to silver, god I hope they're not starting to evolve or something, that'd make are lives just too hard!! Thank Helen for looking for me, I can't stay in one place for too long, not long enough to do any proper research. Their eyes may well be red, but I only got a glimpse and the one I looked at was missing half its face, that included one eye so I couldn't tell for sure, plus my vision isn't great cause my eyes are so swollen I can only just see out of them, I spent most the night with ice packs plastered to my face in an attempt to keep the swelling down, if I hadn't done that I doubt I'd be able to see at all! Right, I'd better move on before they catch my scent again, I'm running out of cedar ash too, I don't know what I'm going to do when it's all gone. They don't seem to be giving up hunting me, strange really, I thought I was the hunter not the other way around. Luckily I've got an arsenal with me, silver bullets and all, if the silver does kill them, even if it is slowly, and I have to make a last stand, I swear I'll take as many of the bastards with me as I can!!! I'll check in as soon as I'm able, gotta try and find some where I can get an advantage over them!
No luck with the research, but...
I can't find anything on shifters who are immune to silver. Like Jinx mentioned, the kinda sound like Spring Heel Jacks, which would have red eyes, and some of the legends say they spit blue fire, and you havn't mentioned that, so...
But if the silver is kinda working, you might be able to lure them into one of the old silver mines just over the state line in Nevada... do you have any way to get explosives?
You're a Genius and Good News!!
I have great news, I got a brief call from Calem. He's on the run and not far from me, we're going to meet up shortly. He sounds as though he's really hurt though, I hope he's not too bad, I'll find out when I get to him.
Helen my friend, you are a genius. Why didn't I think of that. Explosives are no problem, Calem knows everything about explosives, he should be able to sort enough out to do the job. Haha, this could really work!! From what Calem got the chance to tell me, the silver does work, he killed one himself with it, but it takes more than just a shot in the heart or even the head. He's not sure why, he thinks it may have something to do with the water in Lake Tahoe, that's why they're so protective of the area and are going to the trouble to hunt us down.
I've not seen any blue fire so I don't think we're dealing with Spring Heel Jacks - didn't Buffy Summers tassel with one of them one time?
Anyway, I've stayed here too long and Calem's waiting for me. Thank you for all your help and hopefully I will see you all soon, with Calem too. All I've got to do now is figure out a way to lure them all at the same time!! Guess I may be playing bait tonight!!
Good Luck, hon. I'll be
Good Luck, hon. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
We're heading home!
We're heading home, safe and sound. Well mostly, Calem's needs to go to hospital, his legs broken but other than that he's gonna be fine! As I suspected I would have to, I played bait and lured the pack into the silver mine (thank you Helen) once there I took a planned route out and Calem blew the entrance closed. Simple, huh! He's using a connection of his to have the place condemned, but we're going to have to keep an eye on the place. I'm fairly certain we got the whole pack but I guess we don't know for sure, we haven't had any problems so far though. If our theory's right the silver should hold them in there. Maybe it'll even kill them in time. But I think we need to go back there sooner rather than later and take them all out, but we'll need more of a group than what we had this time round. What ever those things were, they out of harms way for the time being, but I guess we'll have to spread the word about needing volunteers to finish them off. Maybe Felix could help us out in that department? I'll be seeing you all in person soon enough, and hey, keep a cold one in the fridge for me ok, I'm gonna need it! :)
I can but try!
I will check out my contacts in the area and put together a team ASAP. I even know a man named Able Jackson whoes an arms expert. E-mail me everything you know about these things (espcially weaknessess) and I bet he can come up with a weapon that will kill them. He can build just about anything, espeacilly specialized ammo. I wish Rielly Sr was here, he was the best expert on shapeshifters that I ever knew.
Thanks
Ok Felix, I'll email you the info as soon as I can gather it all together. I'll check back with Calem to see if he can think of anything else.
Thank you Felix, I felt awful being forced to leave things unfinished like that, but there was no way Calem and I could take them out alone, there was too many. Plus with Calem's leg, we had to get him to hospital. Hopefully they should be incapacitated for a while till we can get to them. Let me know what, if any thing you arrange cause I've got a couple of bones to pick with those things, so if you'll have me I'd wanna come along.
No sweat
Sometimes you have to do things like that and I can relate being ambushed by unexpectedly suprior numbers. I have shot an e-mail to Abel telling him to think about what information I had and I've begun consulting my own database of creatures to see what I can find.
I'm so glad to hear you're
I'm so glad to hear you're ok, I was worried. You bet there will be a cold one waiting for you. I'll keep a whole case on reserve. I'm sorry to hear about Calem's leg, though. I bet he's not going to be happy about being laid up for a while.
Can't wait to see you and hear the whole story. Might not be a bad idea to write it up and add it to the library incase anyone else runs into something like that.
Yeah, but what to put it
Yeah, but what to put it under? Unknown?
Sighted Sam Winchester
I found him!! I was in Amherst, Massachusetts, hunting a spirit that was causing people to set themselves on fire, when there he was. I was entering the graveyard, intending to burn the spirits bones and he'd beaten me to it. He was standing at the grave staring down into the flames. He doesn't look good though, his face was badly bruised, with cut's all down one arm, and I'm sure he was limping slightly. I tried to speak to him but he didn't even register I was there. He just left the grave open and walked away.
This was yesterday, so if someone can let Dean know, if he doesn't already, I'm sure he'll want to get there asap!!
I'll pass that on to Ellen.
I'll pass that on to Ellen. I don't have Dean's number, but she can contact him.
Thanks
That'd be great, thank you. Let us know what Ellen says, how they are. I hope Dean's ok, I heard he's not being doing so good after John passed. Tell Ellen if there's anything they need, just ask!
Sam is ok.
I just heard back from Ellen, and she says Sam's been found, and they are ok. The last she heard from them they were on a job in the Chicago area, so I'm a little worried if you saw him in Massachusets without Dean along...
Well maybe Dean was around
Well maybe Dean was around somewhere I just didn't see him. I hope so!!
Haven't heard anything about
Haven't heard anything about S. W., but if anyone is interested I did hear there've been a couple of bigfoot sightings in Pico Canyon, out near Signal, California. Might be worth looking onto for anyone out that way.
I'd heard about those
I'd heard about those Bigfoot sightings and was going to mention it to a hunter friend of mine who lives near there but he hasn't returned from a werewolf hunt he was on. It's been over a week now. Has anyone heard anything, I'm starting to fear the worst.
Missing Hunter and Sorrowful News
What's his name, hon? If I hear anything I'll pass it along.
Also, I'm sorry to pass on the news, but there was a hunter named Steve Windell who was killed in his own home about a month or so ago. I'm afraid I didn't know him, but his friends contacted me. They are looking for any information on who or what might have killed him. The unusual thing is, his computer was smashed, and whoever did it seems to have wiped down any fingerprints, so they are ruling out vengeful spirits. And he wasn't drained, so it wasn't vamps.
Bad Times
His names Calem Jacobs. He's 38. He's an experienced hunter, been doing it most his life. Werewolves are his specialty. He injured his right arm about a year ago and I think it's really slowed him down, not that he'd admit it. He's not one to ask for help so I'm hoping he's holed up somewhere being stubborn not... I don't even wanna think it. Trouble is over the years he's made a lot of enemies, there are a lot of creatures out there gunning for him. Please keep your ears open?
Sorry to hear another hunter has fallen. We seem to be dropping like flies at the moment. I hope
this doesn't mean something really bad it coming. Did your friends say how he was killed, might help
in figuring out what did it? I'm assuming we are thinking what not who? If his computer was trashed
it's likely there was information on it they it didn't want people to know. What had he gotten
himself into?
I've heard of Calem, but
I've heard of Calem, but I've never had the opportunity to meet him. I did hear that someone's been using the refuge cabin up in the mountains above Truckee, California. A lot of hunters use the place, and there were signs someone had been there as recently as last Thursday, and there were bloody bandages, like someone had patched up a wound.
You didn't say what part of the country he was in, but if that's his neck of the woods it might be worth a look.
Hey Helen. You never did
Hey Helen. You never did say if the body I found in the cabin was your friend or not. He was definitely a hunter but I couldn't tell who it was, no one I recognized. Let me know if we ever find out who it was? So we can all pay the proper respect.
Oh, dear, in all the
Oh, dear, in all the excitement I forgot to tell you. No, thankfully, Max is fine. I gave him a call and he went back out to the cabin. He faxed me a photo of the body, but none of the hunters here recognize him. Max turned the body over to the authorities, who've ruled it death by bear attack (typical, huh?). Whoever the poor fellow was, I hope they identify him and get him back to his kin.
