Ok, so. Plaything is on tonight for the first time where I am. So I thought once I'd seen it I could come here and disscuss it with anyone interested? Looking forward to hearing everyones thoughts on the episode. :D
Ok, so. Seen the episode and it was a stange mix of laughter and emotion!
It was funny to see then actually confront the point of view of people thinking they're gay, cause they haven't done that since 'Something Wicked'. I loved that it was Sam to take the micky out of Dean about being buff, cause it's usually Dean saying Sam's a girl. But Dean did get Sam back with the comments about Sam collecting dolls!! lol. I cracked up!! lol. I'll leave that as a starter comment!! :)
That episode wasn't one of my favorites. I enjoyed it, as I do all the episodes, but after Hunted it felt like something of a let down. I did love drunk Sam, though. "You're bossy!"
The dolls were just creepy *shudder*.
I did like the way they portrayed Sam as feeling like he has to save people to save himself, kind of like he wants to prove to himself that he's not evil.
(oh, and you forgot the gay stuff in 'Bugs', Dean called Sam 'honey' and slapped his butt. I think we'll see it again in season three, it seems to be a running gag.)
You know, I must be the only one, but I didn't find the dolls creepy. Weird huh?
And I didn't forget about 'Bugs', I said it hadn't been brought up SINCE Something Wicked, which came after Bugs. (Well yeah ok I forgot, but the way I worded it got me off scott free....until I felt the need to confess my sins, god I'm too honest for my own good) :)
You know, I think I was actually surprised that Sam told Dena to kill him if there was no other choice. Although it seems like the thing he would do, it still took me by surprise. And you could see in Sam's face at the end, how much it hurt him to tell Dean he remembered, and he meant every word! You can see how terrified he is, and that he doesn't quite trust himself anymore. Poor Sammy, :(
It was a good episode in my opinion: not my favourite so far but had a bit of everything. And I loved the expression on Dean's face when the whole 'lovers' thing cropped up, and the way Sam teased Dean with the whole 'well you are kinda of butch. Probably think you're over compensating'. But then, it was equally amusing when Dean got his own back with the dolls. The dolls themselves being kinda creepy. Didn't find them as bad as the clown but yeah. Meh. Loved drunk Sam too, although can't believe Dean promised Sam that he'd kill him. And I think Sam will try and remind him as often as possible and it will be another running issue for them both. Not just because John told Dean that he may have to kill Sam but because Sam doesn't want to be evil and hurt people.
That was mean of Sam, to make Dean promise. Cause Dean couldn't NOT promise after all that, plus Sam being drunk, he wouldn't have stopped telling Dean to promise until he did. But I still think it was mean cause he knew Dean wouldn't want to, and doesn't want to. It's scary to think that situation might come up, when Dean may be faced with having to make that decision.
I think the only way Sam could have asked such a thing from his brother was if he was stinking drunk. And I agree with you, it was a very mean thing to do to Dean.
Yeah, but then even after he was sober he was still holding Dean to it. Although I CAN understand where Sam is coming from, and why he got drunk. It's gotta be one hell of a burden. I still think he was better off not knowing, now that he does I think it could contribute to turning him bad in the first place. Now, Sam's going to analise every little thing he does and doesn't do, he's going to constantly wonder 'is it starting?'
I agree that he was better off not knowing. And it could lead him further down that path because even by analysing every detail you can still make mistakes. And if Sam gets caught in something that isn't his fault, part of him will believe that he perhaps didn't try to stop it hard enough or that it was his fault thus destroying another little part of him.
